Elm 18

There once was a 150 year old Elm tree that graced the front of our workshop. Its long life as a tree ended, so we decided to repurpose it to live on indefinitely. Below are several pieces created from this magnificent tree.  There's more Elm 18 left. Let us design something just for you.

Waterfall bench

This slab inspired me to emphasize the natural grain of the wood. I created a bench that shows the grain utilizing a waterfall leg while maintaining the natural live edge along the front and back of the bench.  The steel leg design replicates the look of a elm leaf. Bringing all the elements to make a striking one-of-a-kind bench.

Elm 18 end table created from one of the limbs of the tree.  The hollowed out portion of the trunk gives the table an unusual design element.

Elm 18 Japanese Shou Sugi Ban table

This Elm 18 stump table is finished with the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, a centuries old method using fire to burnish and seal the wood which leaves it  with a unique light gray color and smooth texture.
